Nancy O'Dell's first job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor at WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with care, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. After her time at Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. Then she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. In addition, she serves as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
